Couche-Tard exploring combination with French grocery giant Carrefour

Canadian convenience-store operator Alimentation CoucheTard stated on Tuesday it has initiated exploratory discussions with Europe’s greatest store, Carrefour SA, relating to a possible transaction.

There is not any sure bet at this degree that those discussions will lead to any settlement or transaction, CoucheTard stated in a remark.

As of Tuesday, Carrefour had a market capitalization of $19.56 billion and CoucheTard‘s market capitalization was $47 billion.
