JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) — Kevin Anderson scored a career-high 25 points, dominating overtime with 10, to lead Delaware to a 78-75 win over Saint Peter’s on Saturday night.

Anderson scored the first nine points of overtime for the Blue Hens (1-1), but he made just 1 of 2 free throws — finishing 9 of 11 — with 5.8 seconds left to give the Peacocks (1-1) a chance. Delaware fouled on purpose and the Peacocks missed both free throws with three seconds left.

Anderson was 7 of 14 from the field, 2 of 4 from 3-point range, including a miss at the buzzer after Devauhnte Turner of St. Peter’s made the second of two free throws with 3.5 seconds to play to tie the game at 66.

Eric Carter added 18 points and Matt Veretto 14 of the bench for the Blue Hens, who led 39-29 at the half.

Turner led the Peacocks, who won their opener over Lafayette 93-86 in overtime, with 23 points.
