Cocoa Girl: 'We made the first UK black girls' magazine'

All over lockdown, six-year-old Religion and her mom Serlina looked for magazines that represented youngsters like her.

The realisation that there used to be a loss of variety in magazines for more youthful women led them to embark on designing and printing the primary ever UK mag for black women elderly seven to 14.

Since e-newsletter, Cocoa Woman has skilled a surge in gross sales, promoting greater than 11,000 copies because it introduced in June – at a time when print mag gross sales are in decline.
