Philippines: Environmentalists criticise artificial beach in Manila Bay

A synthetic seaside within the Philippine capital, Manila is inflicting controversy with some environmentalists arguing it’s dangerous for the surroundings.

The ”Manila Bay Sands” undertaking is a part of a much broader $20m executive plan to scrub up Manila Bay.

The white sand is produced from beaten dolomite rock which is extracted from huge dolomite mines.

The Kalikasan Atmosphere Staff says the mining operations are harmful and the unreal sand can hurt marine existence.

Regardless of this, 1000’s of Manila’s citizens had been flocking to the seaside to catch a glimpse of the town’s freshest new speaking level.
